Privacy Policy

Ollia is built around a simple idea: your family knows you're okay — without you having to do anything. Privacy is central to that promise. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.

What we collect

• Email address — used for account creation, login, and important notifications.
• Activity signals — lightweight, on-device signals that let Ollia determine you're okay. Only a minimal status (“Okay”, “Away”) is sent to our server.
• City-level location — an approximate city name you can optionally share with your family circle. We never collect precise GPS coordinates.
• Device push token — used to send you notifications. Never shared with third parties.
• Push notification token — used to deliver safety alerts and check-in nudges to your device. Never used for advertising.

What we do not collect

• Precise GPS or real-time location data
• Messages, calls, or communication content
• Contacts, photos, or other personal files
• Browsing history or app usage details

How your data is stored

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway, a US-based cloud platform. Connections are encrypted in transit (TLS) and the database is not publicly accessible. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or analytics purposes.

Activity signals are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted. Account data is retained until you delete your account.

Third-party services

Ollia uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Clerk (clerk.com) — authentication and account management
• Railway (railway.app) — cloud hosting and database
• Expo (expo.dev) — push notification delivery

Children's privacy

Ollia is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the Ollia app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible — all your data is permanently removed from our servers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Governing law

This privacy policy is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
